Hok Yau Club Federation of Outstanding Student Leaders

Introduction

  Hok Yau Club Federation of Outstanding Student Leaders (FOSL) is an affiliated organization of Hok Yau Club. It was founded in 2006 by the awardees of the Outstanding Student Leaders Award, which honours twenty preeminent secondary school student leaders every year, in recognition of their achievements in leadership and commitments in serving their schools and the community.

  The Federation has a vision to unify the strength of outstanding student leaders to contribute towards the development of Hong Kong. Each year various creative and innovative programmes are held to offer young leaders opportunities to enhance their experience in leadership and social services. For instance, the Federation emphasizes the property of strong community conscience, and a social service scheme will be organized in order to encourage the awardees to pursue real joy in serving the community.

  The Federation also encourages all-round development of students in Hong Kong. During the selection process of the Outstanding Student Leaders Award, applicants can have a chance to practise their inter-personal and social skills through interaction with peers from other schools. Once awarded, they will be offered a training camp followed by an exchange trip to further their leadership abilities as well as their visions and exposures.

  This scheme does not only provide a platform for awardees to share their leadership skills, but also grants them invaluable opportunities to serve the community, thereby reach our aim to create a brighter future for Hong Kong.

Mission and Vision

The Federation of Outstanding Student Leaders was newly founded in 2006 by the awardees of the 1st Outstanding Student Leaders Election Plan organized by Hok Yau Club in 2005 and is now a subsidiary association of Hok Yau Club.

With the vision to gather the strength of eminent secondary students to stimulate social development in Hong Kong, our non-profitable organization aims at:
1) Encouraging mutual cooperation and exchange of ideas among gifted student leaders
2) Enhancing leadership capability among members
3) Consolidating members' understanding of and responsibility for society
4) Fostering national identity in our ethnic counterparts
5) Cultivating a combined sense of "national enthusiasm and global perspectives" among members

The 4th Outstanding Student Leaders Election Programme

Aims

Aims: To commend student leaders for the efforts they have devoted in the various responsibilities they have taken up in their schools and in the society.
To broaden the horizons of awardees through the exchange tour to the Mainland China, as well as to learn more about leadership training in Mainland.
To strengthen the bonding among outstanding student leaders and hence pass on the spirit to “serve the society in friendship”.
